What is a Template?

Page Templates are pre-developed page layouts used to create new pages from the same design, pattern and/or style.
In a dynamic CMS [Content Management System] a page template is a software data file that duplicates and globally edits graphic elements across multiple pages. The result is that all pages in a website have the same "look and feel" as they use the same headers, footers, navigation and even font "styles".

The same is often also used in Static pages when you see ".php / .asp" instead of ".htm / .html" to keep file sizes on the server smaller by not repeating the same code on every page. The webmaster uses "includes" to repeat the same content in all pages in a set. Obviously it is also possible to change the content in those includes and in this way making the same change to all associated pages. This set of pages is constructed using this method. (see this page what it looks like without the repeated header, menu & footer includes)

What kind of Template?

  • XHTML/CSS layout files
  • The actual templates are written in standards compliant XHTML/CSS.
Unlike conventional HTML layouts, XHTML/CSS layouts are constructed without the use of tables.
There may be one or more of these files depending on the number of pages the template includes.
  • HTML layout files
  • The actual templates are written in tables based HTML. This layout format is included with each XHTML/CSS website template in the event you wish to still use tables-based layouts. There may be one or more of these files depending on the number of pages the template includes.
Unlike many other sites and designers, our HTML files are not generated by third party applications.
These generated HTML files are usually very hard to work with and are very inefficient. Instead, our HTML files are hand coded by our expert designers and HTML programmers to be as efficient, easy to work with, and compatible as possible.

Uses of the Latin "Lorem ipsum"

In many templates you will find a section of Latin text - See a short explanation HERE

Uses of the templates in this section

Use the navigation section on the left to select a page of thumbnails.
NOTE each thumbnail links (via a javascript) to a POP up window to show the actual size of the "website". To view these pages you must have POP-ups enabled for your browser!!

The templates here are shown to give our clients a selection of options which we will use as a base to design the final "look/feel" to be used for the clients website pages

All of the designs use meaningless content and there are no external links.
They are NOT final / finished designs
